ELITE HOCKEY

2024-2025 SEASON

Players in U13, U15, U16 and U18 are eligible to try out for "ELITE" hockey. The community you live in determines if you will register with the Calgary Buffaloes (CBHA), Calgary Royals Association (CRAA) or Girls Hockey Calgary (GHC). If you choose to register with your Elite Association then you also MUST register with Southwest.

IMPORTANT Registration Information

"When using the Southwest website to register, choose the 'Elite Tryout' option for your age group. No deposit fee is required until we receive confirmation that the participant has been released by the Elite team, and is returning to Southwest.

If a payment plan is important to you, you are welcome to register and choose the payment plan.  If you are successful with the Elite Association then 100% of the fees paid will be refunded.

If the participant is released, the SW registration fee must be paid prior to the participant's first skate with Southwest. FULL payment is due by SEP 15th.

Important: If a participant who is trying out for Elite; is not also registered with Southwest, and the participant is released from Elite tryouts --- registration with SW will be based on availability, and a late registration fee will also apply.

Girls Hockey Calgary (GHC)

Members include U13 to U18 aged players who's permanent residence is within the Zone 9 boundaries.

Female players are now eligible to try out for the Elite Fire teams with Girls Hockey Calgary (GHC), but if unsuccessful, they may now return to Community Stream.

Want to transfer back to SW from GHC?

You will need to request a transfer from the SW Registrar.
Follow the steps outlined in #3. Once we receive the documents we can begin the transfer.

This option will allow you to register with SW and still register to try out with GHC
