INTRODUCING OUR NEW DEVELOPMENT SERIES

Southwest Hockey is excited to launch our new Development Series - a fresh lineup of high-impact, skill-building sessions designed to help players skate faster, think quicker, and play smarter. From power skating and puck mastery to offensive creativity, defensive confidence, shooting precision, and fast-paced S.A.G competitions, each session gives athletes the tools they need to elevate their game. It's focused, fun, and built around the fundamentals that help young athletes grow.

U9 to U15: A focus on developing hockey skating mechanics related to the Stride, Edges, Agility and Transitions.

​

U9 to U18: A focus on developing the essentials of puck skills, stickhandling, passing and shooting. The Southwest Hockey philosophy is using drills to teach and reinforce good technique and habitats through repetition.

U11 to U18: A focus on developing individual defensive tactics in 1-on-1 scenarios designed to show players the choices available to stop an opponent, gain control of the puck and prevent scoring opportunities.

U15 & U18: A focus on creating time and space to generate high-quality scoring opportunities. We will be emphasizing Southwest Hockey's philosophy of the 3-P's; Puck Protection, Puck Patience and Puck Possession.

U9 to U15: A focus on developing hockey skating mechanics related to the Stride, Edges, Agility and Transitions.

U9 to U18: A focus on developing the essentials of puck skills, stickhandling, passing and shooting. The Southwest Hockey philosophy is using drills to teach and reinforce good technique and habitats through repetition.

U7 to U18: A great way to finish the hockey season. These one-hour sessions will feature three (3) different 3v3 small area games. Four (4) teams will compete against each other, changing the opposing team and game every 20-minutes.

​

U9 to U18: Mastering the essential shooting skills, proper hand placement, loading, weight transfer and release to generate maximum power with accuracy. This emphasis on shooting will include deception skills, shooting from all areas and shooting from the inside and outside foot.
